We don't cheer the weak, the timid. We cheer the dreamers, the chasers and the achievers; because the ones who can chase their dreams are the only ones who can achieve them - A spirit imbibed in me by Garden City College. The five years I spent at GCC, pursuing my Bachelors as well as Masters in Business Administration, were the years which laid the stepping stone towards a bright future. GCC helped me in my growth not just academically and professionally, but also at a personal level. It is our Chairman, His Excellency Dr. Joseph V.G., who has been a guiding light often encouraged us to look beyond books. The various opportunities offered to students in terms of industry-academia exposure, the placement opportunities and the platform to be a part of the global community, has truly help me keep an open mindset and put my knowledge into practice. Today, whoever I am, a big part of the credit, goes to GCC, for which I can never thank enough.

I embarked on a journey of Corporate Success, something that all MBA aspirants dream of at the start of their journey. It all seemed like days full of fun, assignments, projects and a lot more. Some days were hectic, some were just overwhelming. Not once did I realize how those critical 2 years at Garden City would shape my future.

The Lecturers, Guest Lectures, workshops, seminars and all those precious moments at Garden City are something I proudly cherish. The learnings and experiences at classrooms sessions transformed into a skill set that was my dream. Today, I am a successful HR Leader of a multinational hospitality company with close to 500 Associates. The biggest lesson I learnt at Garden City is success only comes to those who have made it their mission.

The 13 years at GCC was the most beautiful phases of my life till date. I’ve completed my studies as well as worked as a lecturer. I had plethora of opportunities to mix up with people from different cultures in GCC. My interpersonal skills, were honed at GCC. My teachers at GCC were very helpful and always supported me for co-curricular and extracurricular activities. They were in true sense my friend, philosopher and guide. Staying away from home was new to me, but my teachers supported me. It was not just in studies but also in our personal lives, they played an important role. They’ve counselled us and guided us. GCC being GCU is a great change, it’s a great feeling.

I’ve spend 11 years of my life at GCC. I was a student for 5 years and a staff member for 6. For me, GCC is Alpha and Omega. Some of the early lessons of life were learnt at GCC, which till date I follow. At GCC everyone gets an equal opportunity to shine. Being a management trainee, I was involved in conducting seminars, intercollegiate events, and various other activities. I learned organizational skills during the college’s annual festival Gardenia. When I joined in ’98, studying in GCC was a great privilege. I am grateful that my parents picked GCC for my education. GCC has changed my personality and made me a better version of myself. I was active in almost every stream, be it sports or festivals. No matter who I am, where I go, I represent Garden City College. It is an honour to be a part of this great Institution.

Garden City Group of Institutions is one of the best places for learning and self-discovery. It was a wonderful experience being a part of such an institution. It was recently in 2015 when I had left my home to begin my journey of MBA. Soon I realized that the multi-cultural Institution is actually a great place to nurture oneself. I learnt the basics of communication that keeps on helping me even now while I’m supporting my family business after successfully working in an organization where I was placed through campus hiring. This Institution is a home away from home.

GCC was more than college. It was a family which helped transform raw talent into capable individuals excelling in both professional and social frontiers. I have very fond memories of my college life, the campus, my classmates, friends and professors. They encouraged me to study well and also be active in extra-curricular activities. I discovered my leadership qualities and got ample opportunities to develop my talent. As a physiotherapy student, I not only learned the functioning of human body and treated patients but, also wrote articles for college magazine, participated in cultural activities, organized events and polished my skills of public speaking. This led to an all-round grooming of my personality and the skills I gained have helped me to live a balanced and meaningful life. on 28th Nov 2016, I was conferred ‘Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Award’, for my contribution towards wheelchair sports. From my heart, I thanked my parents and all my teachers and my college for my achievement. Thank you GCC, for fond memories and much more.

Graduating from GCC has been one of the most enriching and fulfilling experiences of my life. The exposure that I received at various points in time during my stint allowed me to thoroughly reflect on my strengths which translated into career ambitions. The building blocks that the college invested in for my career led to a strong foundation and I can connect all the rewards I am reaping today to this. Bridging the industry-academia gap truly comes alive at the institution with a conscious effort put in to drive holistic and experiential education for all. As I was making the transition from college to my workplace, I never felt the slightest of discomfort because of the invaluable experiences including life and on the job kinds behind me. A special mention goes out to the honourable Chairman, His Excellency Dr Joseph VG for being the able guide, mentor and support that he has been to this day. All in all, I can say that I have shone and the world is seeing.
