‘Placements’ is one of the most important aspects for the students, parents as well as for the Institution. We at GCU consider placements as one of the by-products of all the efforts put during the entire tenure of any program that the students join.
Students in their pre-final year of graduation/post-graduation need to fill up the career advisory form. It is necessary for all students to fill up this form as it is used to gauge their career interest. There are three broad aspects to the career interest of students:
Students get individual attention based on their inputs while filling up this career advisory form. Those who choose Immediate placements after course completion, go through rigorous training and assessments from their pre-final year of course.
Window for campus placements opens up for companies in twice a year. First window is 40 days from first Monday of September. Second window is 40 days from second Monday of January. These two windows ensure 100% placement for all students who have registered for placements.
Students join respective companies as interns for 3 months in their last semester wherever they get placed. The benefits of this system are:
Last semester typically contains 1 or 2 subjects across all programs. Hence the course completion, preparation as well as exams happen very quickly. This ensures a fast turn-around-time for students to join companies as full-time employees after course completion.
Every class is assigned with a faculty-member who coordinates with the placements cell of the University. At the same time, two student representatives are chosen by the way of selection who become the primary point of contacts for the entire class. This ensures smooth coordination between the students and the placements cell.
Placements Cell releases timely notification to students to record their interest in various companies who offer internships and placements support.
